The Fax About Going Green

Don't get burned like I did!

Over the holidays, Los Angeles (where I live) had especially atypical weather.  Extreme cold, rain, wind, thunderstorms for days at a time.  Of course, going outside to do anything other than go to work or school was taking a serious chance on your life.  So when a slow-paying client asked that I fax some paperwork to them, I thought they were crazy since I knew they weren't going to reimburse me any office equipment, let alone a fax machine and I'd sent similar docs via email with no problem.

Now I tried that big name electronic fax company and they were good but I don't send enough papers by mail to justify paying $10/month for a number that does not have an area code anywhere near my state.

My domain carrier offers a toll-free option but  have less use for that since business love to use that for junk.

In a similar incident dealing with the slow-pay client, I shelled out nearly ten dollars to send a few pages - and this was with their "discount card" that this office retail supplier loves to plug every time you visit their store.

I'm not knocking anyone's hustle but almost all of us are watching pennies and spending $120 a year just to gross a few hundred from clients that may either take forever to pay or may be on the lower end of work priorities just doesn't make sense.
